Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 4.10% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.6350 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.39% or 0.0880 points to end at 6.4130 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.25% or 0.0004 points to 0.0324 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.92% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.1330 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 1.29% or 0.0370 points to end at 2.8410 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.22% or 0.1300 points to 10.5200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.48% or 0.23 to $47.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $46.16 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 4.05 to trade at $1271.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1378, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.7874.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 94.09.
