Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 9.63% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.1480 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.79% or 0.124 points to end at 7.049 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.57% or 0.0530 points to 3.4280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.56% or 0.0005 points to trade at 0.0315 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 0.97% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.6140 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.83% or 0.0150 points to 1.7840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.72% or 0.36 to $50.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.20 to trade at $1207.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7610.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.72.
