Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 2.32% or 0.2220 points to trade at 9.8010 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.86% or 0.2300 points to end at 12.5800 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.90% or 0.0100 points to 1.1260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.47% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.3420 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 2.71% or 0.0190 points to end at 0.6810 and Banif SA (LS:BANIF) shed 2.70% or 0.0001 points to 0.0036.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 22 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.43% or 0.21 to $49.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.78% or 0.36 to hit $46.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.30 to trade at $1182.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.7368.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 94.58.
