Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which rose 2.09% or 0.2525 points to trade at 12.3175 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) added 1.56% or 0.1925 points to end at 12.5375 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 1.49% or 0.0001 points to 0.0068 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which lost 2.94% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.82 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) declined 1.11% or 0.0750 points to end at 6.6710 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) shed 0.99% or 0.0110 points to 1.0980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 26 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.03 to $63.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.23% or 0.14 to hit $59.56 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1172.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1149, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.7086.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 95.73.
