Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.35% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.9010 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 1.07% or 0.0025 points to end at 0.2357 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.99% or 0.0030 points to 0.3050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 2.02% or 0.0830 points to trade at 4.0360 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 0.62% or 0.003 points to end at 0.482 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.51% or 0.0140 points to 2.7410.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.11% or 0.53 to $48.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.22% or 0.55 to hit $45.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.76 to trade at $1243.04 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 95.48.
