Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which rose 3.89% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2940 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 2.60% or 0.0540 points to end at 2.1330 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 2.50% or 0.0001 points to 0.0040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which lost 1.71% or 0.2100 points to trade at 12.0750 in late trade. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 1.57% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.4390 and Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) shed 1.06% or 0.0770 points to 7.2100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 31 to 20 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.72% or 0.85 to $48.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.38% or 0.18 to hit $46.97 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.70 to trade at $1117.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7286.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.39.
