Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 4.36% or 0.1380 points to trade at 3.3050 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 3.24% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.1910 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.60% or 0.0316 points to 1.2490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 1.40% or 0.0820 points to trade at 5.7580 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.20% or 0.1500 points to end at 12.3300 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 0.74% or 0.0200 points to 2.6900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.37% or 0.17 to $46.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.74% or 9.05 to trade at $1207.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.0593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8594.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 101.36.
