Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 2.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 9.73% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.46 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 8.24% or 1.36 points to end at 17.87 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 3.76% or 0.16 points to 4.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which lost 3.30% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.52 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 2.06% or 0.33 points to end at 15.67 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) shed 1.60% or 0.08 points to 4.97.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.61% or 0.44 to $72.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.69% or 0.47 to hit $69.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.74% or 48.75 to trade at $2,752.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.80% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.02.
