Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 3.54% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.24 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) added 3.41% or 0.01 points to end at 0.37 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 2.76% or 0.09 points to 3.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 8.30 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 0.29% or 0.02 points to end at 7.00 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) gained 0.59% or 0.03 points to 4.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 26 to 1 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.84% or 2.17 to $78.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.28% or 2.40 to hit $75.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 3.40 to trade at $2,435.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 103.01.
