Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 3.87% or 0.18 points to trade at 4.70 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 2.68% or 0.10 points to end at 3.68 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was up 2.55% or 0.48 points to 19.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 1.41% or 0.28 points to trade at 19.53 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) declined 0.41% or 0.02 points to end at 3.85 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.21% or 0.02 points to 9.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.56% or 0.46 to $82.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.57% or 0.45 to hit $78.19 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 8.85 to trade at $2,390.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.11.
