Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 3.08% or 0.34 points to trade at 11.37 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 2.16% or 0.07 points to end at 3.50 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was up 1.92% or 0.05 points to 2.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 2.42% or 0.44 points to trade at 17.77 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.49% or 0.04 points to end at 8.17 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 14.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.50% or 1.09 to $71.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.75% or 1.20 to hit $67.50 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 5.35 to trade at $2,567.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.53.
