Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.39% or 0.32 points to trade at 13.71 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.33% or 0.05 points to end at 3.51 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was up 1.22% or 0.05 points to 3.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which lost 0.47% or 0.03 points to trade at 5.26 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.29% or 0.02 points to end at 6.96 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) shed 0.25% or 0.05 points to 19.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.80% or 0.67 to $84.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.78% or 0.62 to hit $80.34 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 15.30 to trade at $2,344.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.86.
