Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 1.68% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.74 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.21% or 0.17 points to end at 14.18 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 1.16% or 0.00 points to 0.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which lost 1.23% or 0.11 points to trade at 8.82 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 0.72% or 0.03 points to end at 4.16 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) shed 0.68% or 0.11 points to 16.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.99% or 1.64 to $80.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.22% or 1.78 to hit $78.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 5.30 to trade at $2,509.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 102.67.
