Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.85% or 0.41 points to trade at 14.79 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 1.84% or 0.07 points to end at 3.87 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.47% or 0.07 points to 4.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 8.46% or 0.26 points to trade at 2.79 in late trade. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) declined 1.18% or 0.20 points to end at 16.75 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.66% or 0.06 points to 8.98.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.76% or 0.56 to $73.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.87% or 0.61 to hit $69.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 2.60 to trade at $2,525.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.33.
