Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.89% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.78 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) added 1.72% or 0.06 points to end at 3.54 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 1.48% or 0.20 points to 13.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which lost 2.97% or 0.16 points to trade at 5.23 in late trade. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) declined 0.39% or 0.07 points to end at 18.08 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) shed 0.15% or 0.03 points to 16.49.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.01% or 0.73 to $71.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.01% or 0.70 to hit $68.76 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 13.44 to trade at $2,631.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 107.78.
