Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.03% or 0.29 points to trade at 14.61 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 1.69% or 0.32 points to end at 19.21 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.14% or 0.04 points to 3.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which lost 3.10% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.56 in late trade. Semapa (ELI:SEM) declined 0.93% or 0.14 points to end at 14.94 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.85% or 0.02 points to 2.33.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 10 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.56% or 1.25 to $79.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.70% or 1.31 to hit $75.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 6.10 to trade at $2,421.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 104.38.
