Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 2.46% or 0.41 points to trade at 17.10 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.68% or 0.04 points to end at 2.54 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was up 0.88% or 0.03 points to 3.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which unchanged 0.61% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.41 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.23% or 0.04 points to end at 17.08 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) shed 0.18% or 0.02 points to 8.31.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.46% or 1.07 to $74.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.46% or 1.03 to hit $71.40 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 19.65 to trade at $2,672.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.28.
