Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 3.17% or 0.22 points to trade at 7.16 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.25% or 0.17 points to end at 13.77 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 0.56% or 0.11 points to 19.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which lost 1.68% or 0.26 points to trade at 15.24 in late trade. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 1.21% or 0.07 points to end at 5.30 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.52% or 0.05 points to 9.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 10 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.27% or 0.23 to $85.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $81.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 2.40 to trade at $2,462.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 103.73.
