Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which rose 1.25% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.28 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 1.22% or 0.22 points to end at 18.30 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 1.22% or 0.03 points to 2.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which lost 1.00% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.92 in late trade. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) declined 0.67% or 0.02 points to end at 2.24 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) shed 0.51% or 0.02 points to 3.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.22% or 0.88 to $73.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.34% or 0.93 to hit $70.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 3.59 to trade at $2,631.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 107.99.
