Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 2.01% or 0.33 points to trade at 16.72 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.45% or 0.04 points to end at 2.66 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 1.19% or 0.22 points to 18.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which lost 1.41% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.22 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.19% or 0.06 points to end at 4.55 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 1.05% or 0.03 points to 2.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.63% or 1.16 to $72.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.85% or 1.24 to hit $68.44 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.15% or 30.51 to trade at $2,690.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.68.
