Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 1.53% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.58 at the close. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 1.42% or 0.08 points to end at 5.37 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 0.84% or 0.03 points to 3.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which lost 0.52% or 0.08 points to trade at 15.16 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.45% or 0.09 points to end at 18.83 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) 0.43% or 0.00 points to 0.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.53% or 1.30 to $83.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.82% or 1.48 to hit $79.82 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.08% or 51.20 to trade at $2,405.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
