Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR), which rose 0.84% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.61 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 0.81% or 0.13 points to end at 16.22 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 0.77% or 0.01 points to 0.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 0.92% or 0.13 points to trade at 14.01 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 0.43% or 0.02 points to end at 3.68 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.42% or 0.01 points to 2.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.96% or 1.56 to $81.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.45% or 1.88 to hit $78.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.19% or 29.45 to trade at $2,502.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.99.
