Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 6.28% or 0.5250 points to trade at 8.8900 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.37% or 0.0700 points to end at 5.1700 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.28% or 0.140 points to 11.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included F.Rama (LS:RAMA), which lost 2.29% or 0.200 points to trade at 8.550 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.21% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.8950 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 1.02% or 0.0300 points to 2.9000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 17 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.03% or 1.51 to $76.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.23% or 2.20 to hit $70.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.58% or 7.30 to trade at $1261.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1660, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 94.27.
