Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.13% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.7660 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.84% or 0.210 points to end at 11.645 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.39% or 0.0031 points to 0.2265 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 1.24% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.3180 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.75% or 0.0390 points to end at 5.1680 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) shed 0.53% or 0.017 points to 3.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.59% or 0.31 to $52.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.38% or 0.18 to hit $47.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.57 to trade at $1328.77 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1875, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.9159.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 92.71.
