Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.93% or 0.1500 points to trade at 2.6790 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.01% or 0.0081 points to end at 0.2100 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.38% or 0.0130 points to 0.9550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 2.22% or 0.3700 points to trade at 16.2700 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 1.16% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.7690 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 1.13% or 0.135 points to 11.815.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.74% or 0.40 to $54.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.44% or 0.21 to hit $48.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.35 to trade at $1332.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1964, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.9012.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 91.88.
