Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 4.03% or 0.1920 points to trade at 4.9520 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.59% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.2380 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.54% or 0.0067 points to 0.2708 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 2.08% or 0.4500 points to trade at 21.1500 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.34% or 0.1200 points to end at 8.8100 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.36% or 0.040 points to 11.140.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.48% or 0.35 to $72.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.76% or 0.52 to hit $67.74 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.30 to trade at $1223.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1700, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.37.
