Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 2.23% or 0.4000 points to trade at 18.3200 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.97% or 0.0550 points to end at 2.8500 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.68% or 0.2250 points to 13.6250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.06% or 0.0045 points to trade at 0.2140 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.22% or 0.120 points to end at 9.680 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 0.92% or 0.0800 points to 8.6100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.24% or 0.18 to $76.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $68.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1217.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.1689, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.9065.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 94.62.
