Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 1.78% or 0.0170 points to trade at 0.9715 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.77% or 0.200 points to end at 11.480 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.49% or 0.1850 points to 12.5700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 1.00% or 0.0900 points to trade at 8.8700 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 0.99% or 0.100 points to end at 10.050 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.98% or 0.0090 points to 0.9110.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $74.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.59% or 0.41 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1225.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1658, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8892.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 94.44.
