Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 4.31% or 0.1250 points to trade at 3.0250 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 3.78% or 0.420 points to end at 11.520 and F.Rama (LS:RAMA) was up 3.51% or 0.300 points to 8.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 1.86% or 0.0045 points to trade at 0.2375 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.44% or 0.0038 points to end at 0.2595 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.19% or 0.0360 points to 2.9960.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.05% or 1.56 to $77.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.30% or 2.33 to hit $72.86 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1255.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1578, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 94.86.
