Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.15% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.95% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.9410 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.92% or 0.0750 points to end at 3.9800 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.54% or 0.0580 points to 3.8200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 0.91% or 0.1550 points to trade at 16.7950 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 0.87% or 0.0260 points to end at 2.9520 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 0.57% or 0.0400 points to 6.9700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.22% or 0.83 to $68.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.70% or 1.05 to hit $62.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.62% or 8.20 to trade at $1312.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1923, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 92.31.
