Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 6.41% or 1.10 points to trade at 18.25 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 3.87% or 0.110 points to end at 2.950 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 3.28% or 4.05 points to 127.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 2.50% or 0.55 points to trade at 21.45 in late trade. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 2.12% or 2.90 points to end at 134.06 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 1.83% or 92.00 points to 4947.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 244 to 235 and 170 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $48.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.34% or 17.75 to trade at $1338.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.79% to 4.4129, while USD/PLN rose 0.48% to 3.9611.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 95.69.
