Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 2.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 0.55% or 0.06 points to trade at 10.92 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) fell 0.05% or 0.04 points to end at 84.14 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was down 0.37% or 0.20 points to 53.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 5.44% or 1.90 points to trade at 33.00 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 4.59% or 0.85 points to end at 17.67 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) shed 4.16% or 2.98 points to 68.66.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 315 to 140 and 179 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.63% or 1.92 to $50.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.61% or 2.22 to hit $59.34 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.90 to trade at $1246.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.10% to 4.2793, while USD/PLN fell 0.41% to 3.7606.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 96.715.
