Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Media and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 1.71% or 1.55 points to trade at 92.00 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 0.34% or 0.21 points to end at 62.22 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 0.34% or 0.02 points to 5.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 3.13% or 13.90 points to trade at 430.10 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.60% or 0.100 points to end at 3.750 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) shed 2.41% or 8.20 points to 331.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 296 to 195 and 181 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.10% or 0.05 to $49.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.33% or 0.17 to hit $52.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.25% or 15.84 to trade at $1278.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.09% to 4.2691, while USD/PLN rose 0.17% to 3.6352.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.50.
