Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Banking and Developers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 3.11% or 0.40 points to trade at 13.28 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 2.61% or 1.50 points to end at 59.00 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.36% or 2.83 points to 122.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 3.49% or 299.95 points to trade at 8300.00 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.87% or 8.30 points to end at 281.00 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) shed 2.81% or 10.10 points to 349.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 269 to 200 and 210 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.54% or 0.28 to $51.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.99% or 0.58 to hit $57.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.62% or 8.07 to trade at $1303.43 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.2875, while USD/PLN rose 1.02% to 3.6437.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 93.00.
