Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 4.13% or 2.20 points to trade at 55.50 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 1.59% or 125.00 points to end at 7975.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.54% or 0.14 points to 9.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 5.08% or 3.88 points to trade at 72.56 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 3.39% or 0.22 points to end at 6.27 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) shed 2.99% or 0.51 points to 16.54.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 295 to 261 and 63 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 6.66% or 3.64 to $50.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 6.02% or 3.77 to hit $58.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.70 to trade at $1223.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.2914, while USD/PLN rose 0.54% to 3.7866.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 96.835.
