Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 2.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 9.64% or 2.70 points to trade at 30.70 at the close. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) added 6.59% or 8.50 points to end at 137.50 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 6.31% or 1.34 points to 22.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which lost 3.09% or 1.60 points to trade at 50.10 in late trade. ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) declined 1.10% or 2.00 points to end at 180.00 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) shed 0.89% or 0.15 points to 16.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 306 to 294 and 55 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 3.99% or 2.13 to $55.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.61% or 1.63 to hit $64.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.30 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.24% to 4.3014, while USD/PLN fell 0.37% to 3.7781.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 96.632.
