Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Construction and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 2.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 6.93% or 9.85 points to trade at 151.95 at the close. BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP) added 5.35% or 36.00 points to end at 709.00 and CD PROJEKT SA (WA:CDR) was up 5.30% or 7.20 points to 143.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 0.25% or 0.01 points to trade at 3.96 in late trade. Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 2,890.00 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) gained 0.13% or 0.60 points to 465.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 253 to 250 and 105 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.84% or 0.68 to $81.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.76% or 0.64 to hit $84.97 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 10.35 to trade at $2,341.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.57% to 4.30, while USD/PLN fell 0.91% to 4.01.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 105.18.
