Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 5.71% or 7.00 points to trade at 129.50 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 4.02% or 1.17 points to end at 30.27 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 3.45% or 0.41 points to 12.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 0.84% or 0.18 points to trade at 21.34 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 0.25% or 0.35 points to end at 141.10 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) gained 0.52% or 0.05 points to 9.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 259 to 251 and 102 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.83% or 0.65 to $78.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.75% or 0.62 to hit $83.24 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.97% or 22.85 to trade at $2,326.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.41% to 4.36, while USD/PLN fell 0.58% to 4.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 105.14.
