Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO), which rose 3.66% or 2.02 points to trade at 57.18 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 3.66% or 3.34 points to end at 94.58 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 2.73% or 17.00 points to 638.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 1.48% or 0.34 points to trade at 22.66 in late trade. Santander Bank Polska SA (WA:SPL1) declined 0.95% or 4.40 points to end at 459.20 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 0.65% or 0.02 points to 3.38.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 242 to 235 and 109 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.80% or 0.55 to $69.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.78% or 0.56 to hit $72.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.02% or 26.45 to trade at $2,607.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.09% to 4.28, while USD/PLN fell 0.16% to 3.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 101.00.
