Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which rose 3.12% or 11.15 points to trade at 368.05 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.94% or 3.58 points to end at 125.23 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.91% or 2.07 points to 73.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which lost 2.19% or 2.82 points to trade at 126.03 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 1.13% or 3.00 points to end at 263.00 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 0.85% or 0.40 points to 46.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 300 to 195 and 164 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.64% or 1.47 to $57.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.84% or 1.76 to hit $63.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.97% or 12.26 to trade at $1281.46 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.09% to 4.2409, while USD/PLN fell 0.02% to 3.6559.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 94.74.
