Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP), which rose 5.31% or 23.40 points to trade at 463.80 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 3.07% or 0.26 points to end at 8.55 and Text SA (WA:TXTP) was up 2.25% or 1.50 points to 68.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which lost 4.79% or 0.30 points to trade at 5.92 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 3.11% or 0.71 points to end at 22.10 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 2.86% or 0.11 points to 3.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 225 and 109 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.94% or 0.66 to $70.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.26% or 0.92 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 8.41 to trade at $2,653.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.05% to 4.26, while USD/PLN rose 0.14% to 4.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 106.88.
