Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Basic Materials and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank (WA:MBK), which rose 3.11% or 18.80 points to trade at 623.80 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) added 1.69% or 2.55 points to end at 153.75 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) was up 1.52% or 0.14 points to 9.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 4.72% or 1.14 points to trade at 23.00 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.28% or 0.55 points to end at 16.24 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 2.93% or 0.32 points to 10.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 290 to 191 and 125 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.52% or 0.35 to $68.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $71.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 1.50 to trade at $2,526.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.01% to 4.28, while USD/PLN rose 0.37% to 3.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 101.54.
