Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 2.84% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.91 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.77% or 0.36 points to end at 13.36 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 1.89% or 1.80 points to 96.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 2.81% or 5.50 points to trade at 190.30 in late trade. Allegro (WA:ALEP) declined 1.89% or 0.54 points to end at 27.71 and Orange Polska SA (WA:OPL) shed 1.33% or 0.10 points to 7.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 344 to 218 and 68 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.16% or 0.85 to $73.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.70% or 0.53 to hit $76.46 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 11.89 to trade at $2,657.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.03% to 4.27, while USD/PLN fell 0.31% to 4.15.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 108.89.
