Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 1.44% or 2.30 points to trade at 162.00 at the close. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) added 1.09% or 1.000 points to end at 93.000 and First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) was up 0.95% or 0.19 points to 20.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 4.62% or 60.00 points to trade at 1240.00 in late trade. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 3.66% or 0.160 points to end at 4.210 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) shed 3.65% or 8.00 points to 211.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 78 and 35 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.66% or 8.07 to $1224.17 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.98% or 0.45 to hit $46.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.41 to trade at $49.14 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.09% to 7.2315, while USD/PHP rose 0.02% to 49.931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 99.32.
