Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which rose 1.84% or 0.450 points to trade at 24.950 at the close. First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) added 1.39% or 0.26 points to end at 19.00 and Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) was up 1.33% or 2.10 points to 159.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 3.15% or 39.00 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 3.08% or 0.140 points to end at 4.410 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) shed 3.06% or 24.50 points to 775.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 89 and 50 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.56 to $1257.16 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.27 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.40 to trade at $47.32 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.10% to 7.3307, while USD/PHP rose 0.76% to 49.946.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 97.38.
