Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Banking & Financials and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Philex Mining (PS:PX), which rose 7.25% or 0.480 points to trade at 7.100 at the close. Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) added 4.07% or 50.000 points to end at 1280.000 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 3.58% or 0.190 points to 5.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which lost 2.12% or 0.240 points to trade at 11.100 in late trade. Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) declined 2.04% or 4.400 points to end at 211.600 and Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI) shed 1.71% or 1.80 points to 103.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 77 and 16 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.42% or 5.00 to $1198.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.24% or 0.70 to hit $55.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.53 to trade at $61.55 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.03% to 7.1348, while USD/PHP fell 0.13% to 44.205.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 97.98.
