Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Banking & Financials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Manila Electri (PS:MER), which rose 3.34% or 10.000 points to trade at 308.000 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 2.50% or 0.120 points to end at 4.920 and Energy Develop (PS:EDC) was up 2.10% or 0.150 points to 7.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ayala Corp (PS:AC), which lost 1.38% or 11.000 points to trade at 785.000 in late trade. Phi Long Dis T (PS:TEL) declined 1.31% or 38.00 points to end at 2850.00 and Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) shed 1.03% or 2.000 points to 194.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 83 and 15 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1090.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.54% or 0.69 to hit $45.87 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.27% or 0.63 to trade at $50.15 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.29% to 7.3486, while USD/PHP fell 0.30% to 45.627.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.49.
