Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 1.95% or 0.080 points to trade at 4.180 at the close. GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) added 1.74% or 21.00 points to end at 1229.00 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) was up 1.30% or 22.00 points to 1720.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which lost 1.68% or 0.150 points to trade at 8.800 in late trade. Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) declined 1.58% or 3.40 points to end at 212.00 and DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) shed 1.41% or 0.180 points to 12.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 83 and 54 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.26% or 16.22 to $1272.88 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.79% or 0.39 to hit $50.01 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.42 to trade at $52.86 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.12% to 7.2307, while USD/PHP fell 0.14% to 49.775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 98.93.
