Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 3.03% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.680 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 1.91% or 0.210 points to end at 11.000 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 1.74% or 2.650 points to 154.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which lost 2.56% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.380 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 1.79% or 0.100 points to end at 5.500 and Minsur (LM:MINi) shed 1.67% or 0.020 points to 1.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.25% or 0.15 to $59.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.79% or 0.53 to hit $65.64 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.20 to trade at $1182.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.35% to 3.1540, while EUR/PEN fell 0.75% to 3.5069.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 95.11.
