Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 5.77% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.550 at the close. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) added 5.56% or 0.400 points to end at 7.600 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 2.69% or 0.340 points to 13.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 5.56% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.170 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 3.63% or 0.490 points to end at 13.000 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 2.04% or 0.005 points to 0.240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.56% or 0.30 to $52.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.38% or 0.21 to hit $55.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.88% or 10.65 to trade at $1200.15 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.37% to 3.2935, while EUR/PEN fell 0.19% to 3.5209.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 99.91.
